Mary Erwin, 34, born and raised in North Carolina, is a Chef on a mission. She began her culinary adventure as a dishwasher in Ham's Restaurant in 2005. Falling in love with the creativity the kitchen offered, she gained acceptance to Johnson & Wales University at the Charlotte, N.C. Campus.

As a student, she involved herself in the community around her through Charlotte Rotary, Charlotte City Club, LifeSpan, Habitat for Humanity and working for JWU as a Student Assistant to Facilities Management while earning good grades. Mary's passion for life, drive and determination to better the lives of those around her come from the role models she had while growing up. After graduating with her Culinary degree in 2007 and then her Bachelor of Science with a focus in Food Service Management in 2009 from Johnson & Wales Mary chose to continue her education at Carland College pursuing her Masters of Entrepreneurship. Mary says, "The kitchen is my playground, and my utensils are my toys!" Mary dreams of being on The Food Network, being an author, fashion designer, advocate for abused women and role model for young women.

An interesting fact about Mary Erwin is that she has had epilepsy since the age of six and her ability to overcome this obstacle in her life has added determination to Mary's personality. Mary has also developed a strong advocacy for abused women as a result of her personal experiences with this as well.

Sandi was named the largest doll maker in the State of North Carolina and in the Southeast, as named in The Hickory Daily Record.

Sandi met Mary Erwin in 1986 and they became fast friends when Mary was only 4 years old. Twenty four years later, as a chef, Mary approached Sandy with the idea of Madam Chef Couture. Sandi was very happy to come on board with the creation of every coat found on this web site.
